The five-day strike at a Vietnamese plant that makes shoes for Nike ended after the South Korean-owned factory agreed to give workers a monthly transportation allowance and improved eating facilities at the factory.
Around 10,000 workers went on strike at the plant, located in Dong Nai, near Ho Chi Minh City since last week. The workers were demanding higher pay to help cushion the impact of rising inflation rates in the country.
According to Nike, the plant produces about 10% of the 75 million pairs of shoes that Nike produces in Vietnam annually.
