Last night, celebrities, artists and professional athletes came together in Beverly Hills to celebrate basketball All-Star Carmelo Anthony and Jordan Brand's launch of the Jordan Melo M4 basketball shoe.
Jordan Brand, a division of NIKE Inc created this unforgettable event in the backdrop of automotive luxury at Hornburg Jaguar in Beverly Hills bringing to life the design inspiration behind the shoe.
The star-studded, black-carpet event highlighted the Jordan Melo M4's inspirations featuring a gallery of artwork unique to the shoe by accentuating Anthony's basketball heritage, as well as an installation of a 2008 Jaguar XKR Coupe luxury car wrapped in emblems and designs that represents his life from Puerto Rico to Baltimore and Denver.
Behind the scenes footage of the national television advertising spot, "Engine" that began airing on Thanksgiving Day, played on plasma screen televisions sprinkled throughout the dealership.
The launch event brought out celebrities from all genres including big and small screen actors such as Michael Rapaport (Actor), Wendy Raquel Robinson and Pooch Hall (The Game), Tamala Jones (Who's Your Caddy), Melvin Jackson Jr. (Everybody Hates Chris) and Roger Cross (24).
Attendees also included some of the best hard court basketball players in the world such as former world champion basketball player John Salley (Detroit Pistons and host of Best Damn Sports Show), Sam Cassell (Los Angeles Clippers), Kenyon Martin (Denver Nuggets) and Paul Davis (Los Angeles Clippers) and recording artists like legendary hip-hop stars Warren G, Tone-Loc and Shaggy.
Jordan Melo M4 launch party attendees danced all night to the sounds of DJ Driis, better known as actor Idris Elba (American Gangster and This Christmas).
Jordan Brand designed the Jordan Melo M4 for Carmelo Anthony to elevate his All-Star caliber, on-the-court performance even higher by improving quickness and agility.
In addition, Jordan Brand sought design inspiration from the jaguar, both the beautiful jungle cat and the high-performance luxury car.
The shoe represents power and strength much like the feline with its stealth-like precision. The bottom of the outsole works similar to that of the jungle cat's powerful paws providing better traction overall. The rest of the shoe handles like the luxury automobile. |
