For the 9th consecutive year, the winner of this season's college football national championship game will once again be wearing the best performance apparel and footwear designed by Nike.

This will mark the ninth consecutive year in which the best team in college football will wear Nike as they accept college football's biggest prize. In addition, Nike will be worn by nine of the 10 squads competing in the five Bowl Championship Series games scheduled to take place beginning, January 1st.

Nearly 74% of the teams participating in bowl games this season will be wearing Nike as they take to the field. Of the 64 teams participating in this year's bowl games, 47 teams will be wearing footwear by Nike.

Nike teams will wear cleated footwear from the Speed series which includes the Air Speed TD Low, Super Speed D Low and Air Zoom Super Bad 2 TD.

Below are statistics as they relate to Nike's participation in college football this bowl season.

• 9 of the 10 BCS bowl teams are Nike partner schools
• 47 of the 64 bowl teams are wearing Nike footwear
• 47 of the 64 teams are wearing Nike gloves
• 46 of the 64 bowl teams wear Nike uniforms
• 44 of the 64 bowls are using a Nike football
• 32 of the 64 bowl teams will use the Nike eye shield guard
• Nike is represented in 30 of the 32 bowl games, and 17 of the bowl games will be Nike vs. Nike
• The national champion will be a Nike team for the ninth consecutiveyear
