Chairman Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI), Mr. Adesh Gupta, who is also the CEO of Liberty Shoes Limited, is giving his utmost time to make FDDI as a role model for technological & infrastructural development for the leather, footwear, retail & allied industries.

He visited the FDDI on 12th February 2008. On this occasion Mr. Rajeev Lakhara, IRS, Managing Director, FDDI & Mr. Shashi Bhushan Shukla, IRS, Secretary, FDDI were also present.
During his 2-hour stay, he visited the testing laboratory, classrooms, computer center and canteen etc & interacted with the students of various programmes.
Student of FDDI, doing the 'Aarti': In his welcome address, Mr. Rajeev Lakhara, IRS, Managing Director, FDDI said, "The performance of the institute has been outstanding in all areas of its operations such as training, testing, designing, consultancy and distance learning program etc & FDDI is making all its efforts to meet the most pressing need of the hour is which the human resource development and training of manpower."

Delivering the keynote address, Mr. AdeshGupta said, " FDDI should focus on adopting new technologies of the footwear & allied sector in its course modules."
He was very optimistic about the role, which FDDI is playing in the development of the human resource for the footwear & allied sector.
This was followed by his interaction with the members of the faculty where certain issues were raised regarding infrastructure problems, computer lab and library with the increase of students from 150 to 800.
