Detny Footwear Inc has partnered with the fashion specialists at the Peter Marcus Group LLC (PMG).
A seasoned PMG team will provide business-development consulting for Detny, working hand in hand with company founders, Shane and Shawn Ward, on Detny's flagship store, department store launches, international distribution growth, licensing and other key business operations.
"We are looking forward to strengthening our brand and growing our business with the help of the Peter Marcus Group," said Detny President and co-CEO Shawn Ward. "Their expertise will help us take our operation to the next level."
In the first quarter of 2008, Detny has eclipsed its total 2007 revenues. According to the Ward brothers, PMG will help ensure the brand's explosive growth continues through 2008 and beyond.
The Peter Marcus Group is made up of industry executives specializing in luxury accessories and footwear. Founded in 2003 by Peter Grueterich, PMG has worked with such industry titans as Bruno Magli, Hugo Boss, Neiman Marcus, Via Spiga, Salvatore Ferragamo, Bally, Zegna, Taryn Rose, Isaac Mizrahi, Richard Tyler and others.
The veteran PMG team includes Bill Baum, former VP/DMM of Couture RTW, Handbags and Women's Footwear at Neiman Marcus; Monica Magli, who worked in sales, design and product development at her family's company Bruno Magli; and Tom Anzures, who spent more than 25 years in sales management, marketing, licensing, and brand building with footwear companies such as Bally, Salvatore Ferragamo, and Ermenegildo Zegna among others.
Shane and Shawn Ward have been shaking up the footwear industry with innovative designs and silhouettes for over a decade.
After working with companies including Puma, Converse and Fila, the identical twins launched their own line, "Detny by SHANE&SHAWN," a brand committed to men's and women's footwear that suits both fashion and function.
Retail price for the Detny line ranges from $130-$170. In spring 2007, the Wards took their already established brand to new heights by introducing the higher-end "SHANE&SHAWN" collection with suggested retail prices ranging from $220-$300.
According to Shane Ward, creative director and co-CEO, the Detny brands focus on "blurring the line between what people desire aesthetically ... and the 'fit and feel' of athletic footwear," in a unique blend of athletic comfort and high fashion.
The Wards recently opened a flagship boutique in Manhattan's ultra-hip Nolita neighborhood. Located at 238 Mulberry Street, the 2,200-square-foot store houses both Detny lines and will offer exclusive accessories and t-shirts under the designers' label. |
